Growing up, Abelia wanted to work in film and would make movies with her siblings and friends. In high school, she wrote screenplays and short stories. She decided to become a nurse after her younger brother passed away, but a year into the profession, she left nursing and currently works in marketing. She writes every spare chance she gets. Currently, she lives in Ohio with her husband and has a vision board the size of a novel.
